Using the new cooperation, customers who purchase rail tickets through the Brightline app or the company website can also reserve a private or shared Uber ride. “It is critical to our guest experience that access to our stations is convenient and seamless,” says Patrick Goddard, the president of Brightline. “This partnership meets our guests’ preferences and demands by unlocking an online fleet of vehicles to provide a door-to-door service when using Brightline.”
The train company's Brightline+ service, which provides fixed-route shuttles to transport customers from the stations to airports in Miami and Fort Lauderdale as well as locations in Miami Beach, is being expanded by the Uber agreement. According to Dmitriy Vanchugov, the head of partnerships for transit at Uber, this agreement is a step toward enhancing public transportation and increasing transportation access in South Florida.
With service between West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, and Miami, Brightline made its debut in 2018. Two additional stops in Aventura and Boca Raton were added to the rail service in December. Later in 2023, the business intends to expand its service to Orlando.
Uber has collaborated with other transportation providers before. With the launch of "Uber Charter," the firm has also introduced the ability to book limos, party buses, or coach buses directly from the app. Earlier this week, Uber partnered with JetBlue to give free ride coupons to consumers who purchase a hotel and travel package as part of a test program.
