Qatar getting ready for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022

With only one month until the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022TM, Qatar Tourism has unveiled additional tourist destinations, lodging options, and resorts that will be accessible to visitors during the competition. When it comes to Qatar's blossoming as a tourist destination, this unheard-of year of growth signifies a significant turning point. By 2030, Qatar hopes to host six million tourists annually.



Berthold Trenkel, the chief operating officer of Qatar Tourism, declared: “2022 has been an extraordinary year in Qatar with so many major new hotel and tourism openings. From shopping malls to beach clubs, museums to theme parks, there are now activities and experiences in Qatar for every type of traveller, from every nation, and to suit every budget. With more than one million fans expected to visit for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™, we’re proud to be able to offer a true breadth of experiences and entertainment beyond our stadiums, fan festivals and matches.”


New Qatar Attractions, Hotels and Resorts:

Entertainment


Al Maha Island

Al Maha Island, which is scheduled to open next month, will include six upscale eateries, including Zuma, LPM, Billionaire, and Carbone, as well as additional restaurants and attractions including Nammos Qatar Beach Club and Lusail Winter Wonderland. Al Maha Drive, a special driveway experience exclusively accessible by supercars and vintage vehicles, is another gem of the island.


Lusail Winter Wonderland

Visitors to Lusail Winter Wonderland will be able to relax on the beach in the sun while taking advantage of festive games, rides, live entertainment, and delectable food and drink. This is in contrast to the very cold conditions that welcome visitors at the well-known London Hyde Park venue. Beginning in November 2022, Lusail Winter Wonderland will open, bringing the wonder of winter to the Middle East.


Lusail Boulevard

The open-air, climate-controlled promenade in the center of Lusail, which offers a wide range of experiences, is poised to become the Champs-Élysées of the Middle East. It is a vibrant and diverse shopping, business, and residential neighborhood. The opening weekend of Lusail Boulevard is anticipated for November 3-5, 2022, just in time for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022TM.


Qetaifan Island North

The island of Qetaifan North, which was designed as a center for amusement, will have opulent hotels, beach clubs, gardens, pedestrian-friendly streets, unique neighborhoods, and a waterpark with 36 rides that is scheduled to open in 2023. Visitors will feel an adrenaline rush at the waterpark's "The Icon Tower" zone, which has an 85-meter-high slide that will eventually break the world record. Corinthia Yacht Club

The architecture of this magnificent structure, which is situated on the sparkling seas of Porto Arabia in The Pearl-Qatar, is intended to resemble the billowing sails of traditional Qatari dhows. By invitation only, yacht owners and locals will be granted privileged membership to the private club, which is scheduled to open before the end of 2022.


West Walk

West Walk is the newest urban lifestyle neighborhood in Doha, and it is situated in the center of Al Waab. The neighborhood, which is slated to open by the end of the year, combines residential, retail, and entertainment spaces to offer the ideal live-work-play experience. West Bay North Beach Project

The much awaited opening of Qatar Tourism's West Bay North Beach Project is scheduled for early November, with the initial launch including three new beaches in the center of Doha:


West Bay Beach

A public beach that is reasonably priced and has a variety of amenities, such as a food court, fan area, and beach volleyball court.


B12 Beach Club Doha

a beach club that welcomes families with a variety of facilities, including 600 sun loungers, a restaurant, shops, and a playground for kids.


DOHASANDS Beach Club

The chic club will have a lively music stage, quick-service restaurants and bars, shops, and 1,000 sun loungers for guests who want to soak up the sun.


974 Beach Club

This beach club, which is near to the famous 974 Stadium, will offer a five-star beachside experience with private bungalows, water sports, beach activities, upscale shops, food and drink kiosks, a big screen, live DJ performances, and other cultural events.


La Mar Beach Club

This exclusive beach club of the InterContinental Doha Beach & Spa was just just inaugurated in October and offers unrivaled views of the West Bay skyline. In addition to stylish cabanas, sunbeds, and private loungers, guests may enjoy a new take on the popular La Mar restaurant cuisine while taking a plunge in the clear waters.


Makani Beach Club

The bustling oceanfront lounge at The Four Seasons Hotel Doha, which also just debuted in October, offers Southern Mediterranean elegance in a laid-back atmosphere with views of the Arabian Gulf. Light refreshments, ocean views, and DJ entertainment are available to club patrons.



Arts & Culture


Museum of Islamic Art (re-opening)

On October 5, 2022, the famed Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) of Qatar reopened to the public after a year-long renovation of its buildings. The museum will be able to display its iconic exhibits like never before thanks to the reimagining of its permanent collection, which includes over 1,000 items. The new galleries at MIA feature interactive elements and experiences geared toward families with young children.

Printemps Doha

The renowned Parisian department store Printemps will sell over 600 brands, 200 of which will be exclusive to Qatar, when it opens for business for the first time outside of France. The legendary Maisons, including Louis Vuitton, Dior, Valentino, Balmain, Pinel et Pinel, and more, will all be housed under one roof at Printemps, the only department store in Qatar to do so. Over the next few weeks, Printemps will open its doors in Doha Oasis, aiming to become the biggest luxury department store in the area.


Hotels and resorts


Fuwairit Kite Beach

A short hour's drive north of Doha is Fuwairit Kite Beach, which celebrated its grand opening earlier in October. It is located beside a natural lagoon. Thanks to the steady winds, optimal ocean conditions, and powder-soft sands, the cutting-edge resort has discovered the ideal location for kitesurfing.


The St. Regis Marsa Arabia Island

This exclusive island retreat debuted in October in the center of Porto Arabia. On a small island with a Mediterranean feel, the hotel provides specialized services and delectable food options.


Rixos Gulf Hotel Doha

The historic Gulf Hotel was there from 1973 until its acquisition by Rixos Gulf Hotel Doha. The area has a distinguished past. This new all-inclusive endeavor by Rixos Hotels, in collaboration with Accor and Katara Hospitality, will feature 350 rooms and suites as well as seven eating establishments, and the structure has undergone a significant renovation to make place for it. At the end of October, the hotel will be open.


The Outpost Al Barari

The Outpost Al Barari is the first place of its sort in Qatar and is surrounded by towering sand dunes and arid wildness. It is located in the gorgeous Inland Sea nature reserve. The resort features 21 opulent lodges with private pools that blend eco-awareness, sustainability, and opulent service. In November 2022, this distinctive desert experience will be available.


Rixos Qetaifan Island North Doha

This resort, which is scheduled to open before the year is out, will be built around the modern waterpark that serves as the island's main draw. There will also be a classic Turkish hammam, opulent treatment rooms, a private sports club for travelers who like to be active, and the Rixy Kids Club to keep the kids entertained.


Waldorf Astoria Doha West Bay

This hotel, which is now finishing up construction, will open by the end of the year in the diplomatic district of the city. The 44-story tower will have Michelin-starred chefs, a rooftop indoor pool, and rooms with art deco influences.


Waldorf Astoria Doha Lusail

The vast resort has a spotless private sand beach and is situated in the center of Lusail. On October 18, 2022, it officially opened and will feature 461 rooms, a fitness center, a spa, and offices in addition to a variety of entertaining activities for both adults and kids, such as water slides and surfing.


The Ned Doha

The Ned, one of the most upscale hotels and private members' clubs in London and New York, will debut in Doha in November. The Ned Doha, housed inside the former Ministry of Interior building on the Doha Corniche, will have 12 suites, 90 guestrooms, seven restaurants, a spa, a gym, and a 30-meter outdoor pool.


The Chedi Katara Hotel & Resort

This resort, which is tucked away in Katara Cultural Village and surrounded by sumptuous gardens, will debut in November and feature 32 regal villas and opulent rooms, all of which were exquisitely built in a Mughal and Ottoman aesthetic.


Raffles Doha and Fairmont Doha

These five-star hotels will be built side by side in two imposing towers that together will resemble the two scimitar blades on Qatar's national seal. The world's highest chandelier will be housed in the Fairmont Doha's soaring lobby, which was inspired by mega-yacht design, while Raffles Doha will be a suite-only hotel with renowned butler service. A few dining establishments and event venues will be open during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™.


Rosewood Doha

The Rosewood Doha and Rosewood Residences Doha, which will open before the end of the year, are housed in two magnificent buildings and feature a luxury hotel, flats, a spa, and a cutting-edge fitness center. They were inspired by Qatar's coral reefs.


Katara Hills LXR Hotels

15 luxurious villas will provide a secluded and tranquil getaway from the city in the verdant paradise of Katara Hills, inspired by Scandinavian architectural style and built with eco-friendly materials. slated to debut in November.


DoubleTree by Hilton Doha Downtown

This hotel, which debuted in October and has more than 250 roomy serviced apartments, is only ten minutes from the city's center and is close to several of Qatar's most well-known attractions.


The new attractions are the culmination of a series of brand-new debuts for guests in 2022. The most cutting-edge contemporary sports museum in the world, 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum, opened its doors in March. The opulent Place Vendôme opened its doors the following month, including over 500 boutiques and a captivating dancing fountain show. This summer, the new mall with a French influence was perfectly integrated with the Le Royal Méridien Doha hotel.


Other hotels opened this year as well, including Zulal Wellness Resort by Chiva-Som, the biggest wellness resort in the area. This innovative location on Qatar's northernmost tip fuses conventional Arabic and Islamic medicine to produce comprehensive health and lifestyle resets as well as family-oriented wellness trips. The Pullman Doha West Bay then debuted in August, housed in a spectacular new high-rise and well located in Doha's West Bay neighborhood.


There were plenty other fascinating vacancies in 2021. With over 30 rides, including the tallest inside rollercoaster and the tallest indoor shoot & drop tower, Quest Doha opened as a theme park. A Rainforest Hydrotherapy spa and five luxurious dining options were available when the five-star Banyan Tree Doha first opened. In addition, one of the largest theme parks in the Middle East, Desert Falls Water and Adventure Park, opened with 28 slides and rides. The Hilton Salwa Beach Resort & Villas also boasts 3.5 kilometres of stunning private beaches.
